I was really disappointed about the way they handled Black Widow in the movie. It is great to see Natasha finally showing emotion but it comes all in a sudden and feels forced. She didn't even get to put up a good fight like in previous movies and so even though her death is the one key to help the team to collect all 6 stones but it has become totally forgettable. This is so not fair when you compare her death with Iron Man. After all, they are both sacrificing for greater good.
My last hope for them to make a proper twist before the movie ends is when Cap travel back in time and chooses to stay. Gosh I wish he was actually holding Nat instead of Peggy. Peggy has been a past tense for too long and Cap clearly knows how lonely Nat has been. It was Nat standing besides him all these years. Maybe, just maybe, perhaps Cap really did something when he travels back and it will be explained in the Black Widow movie.
I assumed part of the reason, that Widow's death has much less impact to the film (emotionally) is the bind between her and Hawkeye is just not that great. If Widow must die on Vormir, Cap would've been a better replacement for Hawkeye's role, adding that Cap clearly knows he can't make the sacrifice because jumping out of cliff probably won't kill him. Or they could've used Tony and Rowdy. Either way is better in my opinion. It also doesn't make sense for sending 2 people hardly visit space all the way to Vormir, instead of letting Tony, Nebula and Rocket to team up again.
I loved Black Widow too much that I think the movie is a very terrible ending for her being in the Avengers. Even I just mentioned it but I really doubt that if Marvel is really giving her a solo movie next year. If they are going to, they would've tried even harder to make her more memorable, more respectable, and remind people again how good can she fight for the one last time.
Some other very disappointing decision in this movie includes making Thor a joke, and Hulk being useless (no smarter than Tony to figure out the time jump and not strong enough to even make a punch) the black order gets destroyed in only a few seconds. The end battle is actually a bit messy if you ask me. Though the moment when Cap wields Mjonir really gives me chill, and Wanda is definitely the strongest avenger.
Nonetheless, the movie is still good in its own way. Undoubtedly you will have to watch the movie if you've been a fan of the MCU. I dislike the movie for personal reason, but the movie should be enjoyable for general audience.
